I found this site today called A Girl and Her Room. It's a photography project by Rania Matar, a Lebanese-American photographer who has traveled the world to make pictures of girls' rooms between 12 and 20 years to mark the differences but also similarities.
It struck a chord for some reason. I love being a sticky beak and seeing inside other people's rooms.
It also reminded me of when I was a kid and how much I loved my bedroom. Mind you, my bedroom as a kid was pretty ghetto, but I bloody loved my purple chenille bedspread and my Crystal Cylinders posters.
It was always trashed too, much like some of these girls, and my mum was forever cracking the shits at me to clean it up. It's refreshing to see that trashing your bedroom as a kid is a universal rite of passage.
Anyway, now that I've had a sticky beak at their rooms, I felt it only fair that I put some photos up of my own room.
Now, get the hell out of my room!
